October Sapph-Lit updates! Author interviews, book picks & what's next šš©āā¤ļøāšāš©šāØ
Watch our latest author interview, see what we're reading this month, and upgrade your Bindery to have a say in our last 2 books of the year!
Hello friends, lovers, Bindery babes & beyond! I haven't given a full proper update on everything that's going on in the Sapph-Lit universe right now, so buckle up and read on!
First things first, I GOT ENGAGED!!!!! My partner proposed to me in September and I was lucky enough to be whisked away on a 2 week trip to Italy immediately after. It was everything I ever dreamed of and more and I still can't stop staring at my ring.
I posted a ton about our trip on Instagram, but TLDR we rented a car and did a massive road trip from Rome to Chianti, from Chianti to Florence, from Florence to Porto Venere, and from there all the way back down to Rome. I was Passenger Princess the entire time, got to flex my Italian language skills, and visited the members from my mom's family that are still in the old country <3 On this trip, I read the entirety of THE LONELY GIRL'S VEGETABLE PATCH by Genevieve Plunkett, and it was the most chaotic bisexual horse girl romp of a book, I highly recommend.
My partner and I started doing international travel together only 3 months into our relationship, and 4 years later we agreed this was our best trip yet. So special! So dolce vita! So amore!
Next, we have TWO BRAND NEW author interviews up on the Sapph-Lit YouTube channel. I interviewed Mia Arias Tsang all about our August nonfiction pick, FRAGMENTS OF WASTED DEVOTION and Sonia Feldman about our September fiction pick, GIRL'S GIRL. Both interviews are incredibly fun and flirty and dive deep into what it means to yearn. Listen to them while you're doing chores or commuting or crafting and let me know what you think!
It's October, which means there's a new Sapph-Lit pick: THE STARVING SAINTS by Caitlin Starling. I have to say, this was probably the best book PR box I've ever received. When it was sent to me last year, they included hand dyed YARN -- the author is a huge knitter, and my mom is a fiber artist, so knitting has been something I've done on and off since I was a kid. Such a cool marketing moment, and it made me remember the book and include it in our last Sapph-Lit poll. I'm interviewing Caitlin on Nov 3, so make sure to RSVP in our Discord.
If you want to have a say in what we read in November and December, which are both slated as fiction picks, then upgrade your Sapph-Lit membership at least to the $5 tier so you can participate in deciding what books we put in the Discord poll! I will be posting my longlist as exclusive Bindery content for paid subscribers, and from there our Bindery babes help me narrow down the list. I want to read something cozy, maybe a fantasy? Have your say and maybe the book you suggest will win our poll!
Finally, the preorder campaign for CREATIVE DIFFERENCES is going to be announced soon! If you haven't preordered the Sapph-Lit imprint's debut romance novel, please do so! The support we get from preorders means so much to us as an indie publisher, and I cannot wait for you all to fall in love with Ramona and Amelia just like I did. You'll get prizes and bonus content AND tell the publishing industry that you want to see more sapphic romances and sapphic stories like the ones we're putting out there, Creative Differences and Saturn Returning.
I LOVE YOU ALL!!!! Thank you for supporting Sapph-Lit, and I'll see you on Zoom or IRL at our next event <3 xx Nina
